Time: 12.30pm
Route: Elderslie Loop
Distance: 6miles
Time Run: 45mins 25secs (average pace 7:34)
My last easy run before Sunday's Glasgow half marathon. The ball of my right foot was still sore. It feels as if I've bruised it a bit. Hopefully a couple of days of rest and it will be fine for Sunday. I was thinking today as I ran that after the Loch Ness Marathon I am going to take two weeks off with no running at all. I have been going hard at it since last November. I have run at least 3 times a week every week and most weeks five times a week. So I think it will be a good idea to have a couple of rest weeks before I start all over again in building up to the Highland Fling, whw race and The Devil O' the Highlands races next year.
I saw on the web sites that Neal has entered all three so I've suggested to him we have our own triple crown challenge and he is up for it! I think Ian and Thomas might also be doing all three so are you up for it as well guys?? Total time over the three runs? Nothing official but just our own private battle!
This weekend there are a few races I'm aware of. Obviously there is the Glasgow Half Marathon - there are a number of friends doing this one. On Saturday there is a new ultra race the River Ayr Way Challenge (44 miles) that a number of whw family are running in. Then there is the annual Ben Nevis Race which again a number of friends are doing.
So all the best to one and all - I look forward to hearing how you all get on. I think I have the easiest race of the three!

Hi John
Good luck in the GSR on Sun I'm sure you'll do well, look forward to the report, you never know I might even have something to write about at the weekend :-)
Good luck on Sunday, I hope the foot heals fully by then.
Bit more blogging on performance testing on my blog if you are interested.
John, yes, I am planning to do the triple. Looking forward to next years battle already!
I hope you get your foot sorted. I had a similar problem and sorted it with light training plus Ibuprofen.
Thanks for stopping by. Good luck with the half marathon. The triple sounds like a great challenge. Does this mean that Thomas is planning on running the 95 miler as well?
